25 Years of Movies

According to EW – below are the top 100 “New Classic” Movies from the past 25 years. I’m not sure how they made the list. I can think of several that belong on the list instead of some of these pieces of crap. But no one ever said I had GOOD taste in movies myself. Meme totally stolen from Avitable.

Movies I Think Should Be In the Top 100

  • The Green Mile
  • The Shawshank Redemption
  • The Usual Suspects
  • Best in Show (I personally like it better than Waiting for Guffman) (not that I don’t like Guffman)
  • Seven (or Se7en, or whatever)
  • Reservoir Dogs
  • Stand By Me (I think there’s a theme here)
  • Crash

I’m positive I could think of more (Shaun of the Dead) but I’m very tired (Snatch).

I went through the list over at Adam’s site and counted that I’ve seen 51. More than I thought, but I need to see more!

  2. missnightowl says:

You should! There are some good movies on this list, and more that aren’t on the list. I’m going to try to see the rest of these, including Shrek. I’ve been trying to put that off for the 6 years I’ve owned it (and the 6 months my brother loaned it to me before that).

  3. Jason says:

I certainly agree with a lot of these. I like that they’re not all just main stream movies.

It is a good list! There were several, in addition to what I listed, that I felt could have been included but there were also several that could have been included that I’m glad weren’t.

If you follow the EW link there are also lists for books, music, tv (100 for these also), and several smaller lists of 25 and 10.
